Sara Merz

Sara Merz, MBA, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in health education and community initiatives. Currently serving as the Development Director at the Poe Center for Health Education since January 2023, Sara also operates as the Principal at Merz Consulting LLC, a role held since March 2019, where various community initiatives have been founded to enhance lives through cross-sector partnerships. Previously, as Executive Director of Advocates for Health in Action from January 2014 to March 2019, Sara spearheaded innovative, outcomes-based health initiatives, including the nationally recognized ACEs Resilience in Wake County Initiative aimed at addressing childhood trauma. Earlier career roles include Management Consultant at Collaborative Problem Solving, Assistant to Commissioner Jan Parker at Ramsey County, Legislative Aide at the Minnesota Senate, Project Manager at the Minnesota Food Bank Network, and Meditation Teacher during private instruction. Sara holds a BA in Sociology and English from Macalester College and an MBA with a focus in Conflict Management from Hamline University.
