Joshua Shields

Joshua Shields currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs at POET, a position held since June 2020. Prior to this role, Joshua was a Founding Partner at The Shields Group, specializing in public affairs, communications, and advocacy strategies. Joshua's extensive experience includes serving as Chief of Staff and Chief of Policy & Communications for Governor Kristi Noem, as well as various roles at Black Hills Energy, including Senior Manager and Manager of Governmental Affairs. Key campaign management experience includes positions with John Thune for U.S. Senate, Kristi Noem for Congress, and Blake Curd for Congress. Joshua has also worked as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Roger Wicker. Joshua holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Gordon College.
