Erika J Foster, PhD, is the Director of Soils Research & Conservation at Point Blue Conservation Science since May 2021, where responsibilities include developing and leading research projects focused on soil stewardship and health. Previously, as a Soil Ecologist, Erika contributed to carbon monitoring protocols for rangelands in the Western US. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher role at Purdue University, focusing on soil health assessments in Peru, and a PhD candidacy at Colorado State University, where research centered on agricultural soil health and management practices. Erika's early career involved educational roles in natural history and environmental science, contributing to community engagement and outreach initiatives. Erika holds a PhD in Ecology and Soil Science from Colorado State University and dual bachelor's degrees in Natural Resource Conservation and Environmental Studies from the University of Montana.
