Jonathan Smailes has extensive experience in the wine and spirits industry, currently serving as the Director on the Board of Directors for Pol Roger Portfolio since October 2018. In addition to this role, Jonathan has held various positions at Pol Roger since May 2007, including Sales Director, National Account Manager, Associate Director, and Sales Manager for both North & Midlands and Northern England. Jonathan's leadership experience also includes serving as Chairman of the Yorkshire & North East Wine and Spirit Association from March 2016 to May 2018 and as Vice Chairman from March 2014 to March 2016. Prior to joining Pol Roger, Jonathan worked as a Key Account Manager at Playford Ros from September 2003 to April 2007. Jonathan's academic background includes completion of the Sales Directors’ Programme at Cranfield School of Management in 2017 and a BA (Hons) in History & Politics from Northumbria University, earned in 2002. Jonathan attended Giggleswick School from 1994 to 1999.

For more than a century, Champagne Pol Roger was represented in Great Britain by a single company, Dent & Reuss and its antecedents: a symbol of stability, continuity and mutual loyalty. In 1990, with the closure of Dent & Reuss, Champagne Pol Roger resolved to establish its own subsidiary in Great Britain, Pol Roger Ltd. The key management team from Dent & Reuss were recruited to the new company. With selective recruitment, the establishment has now grown to a closely integrated team of sixteen.
