Ian McEwen

Ian McEwen serves as the Fleet Operations & Maintenance Manager at Polar Field Services, Inc. since June 2023 and holds dual roles as the IceCube Upgrade Logistics Manager and IceCube Upgrade Implementation Manager at the Wisconsin IceCube Particle Astrophysics Center since June 2020. In these positions, responsibilities include managing project activities related to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the South Pole, focusing on drilling and string installation. Ian has previously worked at Leidos and Lockheed Martin as South Pole Operations Manager, overseeing various operational areas at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. Additional experience includes roles at PAE and Raytheon Polar Services, where Ian managed vehicle maintenance facilities and conducted heavy equipment repairs. Ian's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Circumpolar Studies and multiple associate degrees focused on resource management and automotive technology.
