John Stoddard

John Stoddard is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operational leadership and technical roles across various industries. Currently, John serves as a Field Risk Technician at Polar Field Services, Inc. since October 2020, focusing on strategies to enhance expeditionary scientific research. Previously, as the Director of Operations at CAMP MANITO-WISH YMCA, John contributed to leadership programming and wilderness travel operations. John's background at Polar Field Services also includes roles as Site Lead and Launch and Recovery Specialist for Project LOON, as well as construction and rigging work. Earlier experience at NOLS as a Senior Instructor involved leading outdoor education programs, where John was recognized as Instructor of the Year in 2012. John's technical skills were further honed through solar system installation at Creative Energies, surveying at Fremont Engineering and Surveying, and project management for capital investments. Academic credentials include two Bachelor's degrees in Geography/Paleoclimatology and Geology/Surficial and Quaternary Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
