Patrick Yu

Patrick Yu has a diverse range of work experience. Patrick started their career as a Graduate Software Engineer at Boeing Training & Flight Services Australia Pty Ltd. There, they developed an automatic service discovery and load balancing system in a micro-service architecture. Patrick also handled DevOps responsibilities and successfully moved the development environment to the enterprise network, overcoming various limitations.

Next, Patrick worked as a Software Engineer and Researcher at Boeing Research & Technology. In this role, they closely collaborated with customers to transition products into pilots and production. Patrick gained expertise in site reliability engineering, security audit, production debugging, and A/B testing. Patrick also designed and implemented a distributed, real-time, fault-tolerant, and scalable software architecture using Angular components, micro-services, real-time event distribution, caching, containerization, and service orchestration.

Currently, Patrick is working as a Senior Software Engineer / Software Alchemist at Polarr. Patrick fulfilled their dream of working for a Silicon Valley start-up in the US and is enjoying a fully remote working environment.

Patrick Yu obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Queensland between 2012 and 2016. Prior to that, they attended the Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology from 2009 to 2011, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
