Kath Stephenson McIpd

Kath Stephenson MCIPD has over 18 years of experience in HR and Organizational Development. Kath currently serves as the Director of People Services at the Police Digital Service, where they advise senior leaders on HR and OD matters and leads the implementation of the People strategy. Prior to this role, Kath held the position of Head of HR at the Police Digital Service, where they established a cohesive and influential HR function.

Before joining the Police Digital Service, Kath worked as the Head of People and Culture at HF Holidays, where they played a key role in supporting the organization's growth strategy. Kath managed a diverse team and was responsible for the development and delivery of the People Plan.

Kath also gained valuable experience at the Lake District National Park as the Head of People, where they delivered a cultural development and employee engagement program. Kath also worked as the People and OD Manager, providing strategic HR leadership and implementing performance improvement programs.

Earlier in their career, Kath worked as an HR Business Partner at Cumbria Constabulary, where they provided HR and OD services to police officers and staff. Kath was successful in re-negotiating terms and conditions and implementing major change management exercises.

Kath's experience also includes working as an HR Consultant at Capita, where they provided advice and support on HR policies and employment law. Kath started their HR career as a Personnel Assistant at Cumberland Building Society, where they provided generalist HR support and developed reward policies.

Kath Stephenson MCIPD graduated from Northumbria University in 2004 with a BA (Hons) degree in Human Resource Management. Prior to that, they attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School from 1993 to 2000. Additionally, Kath has obtained certifications such as "Leading Safely" from the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in 2018, "Adult MHFA 2 Day Course" from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in 2017, and the "Spring Forward Development Programme" from The Springboard in 2009.
