Amanda Starkey is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in project management, advocacy, and training in the human services sector. Currently serving as a Project Associate II at Policy Research Associates, Inc. since February 2015, Amanda plays a key role in SAMHSA’s SOAR Program, developing literature, conducting course reviews, and facilitating communication among state teams. Prior experience includes working as a Disability Benefits Advocate and Lead Trainer for the Colorado Disability Benefits Support Program, where Amanda designed and implemented training for human services professionals and provided legal representation for individuals applying for Social Security benefits. Amanda's background also encompasses roles as a SOAR Specialist with Macomb County Government, a Human Resource Intern at the Michigan Department of Human Services, and a HARP Specialist at Southwest Counseling Solutions. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Addictions Studies, both from the University of Detroit Mercy.
