Yen Ming then worked as Manager at HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad and Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad in 2005. In 2007, they became Senior Manager at Maxis Berhad. In 2013, they became Director at Standard Chartered Bank. In 2015, they became Country Lead at Next Money. In 2016, they became Director at Finnext Capital and CEO & Co-Founder at PolicyStreet.

Yen Ming Lee obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Malaya between 1999 and 2002, majoring in Electrical Engineering. Yen Ming then went on to receive an MBA from the University of Strathclyde between 2005 and 2008. In 2018, they completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program from the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia. In addition, they hold certifications from Alipay's 10x1000 Tech for Inclusion Program (obtained in August 2019) and the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (obtained in August 2018).
