Daniela Hargus has a diverse work experience, primarily focused on immigration law and advocacy. Daniela currently works at the PAIR Project as a Detention Attorney and Boston University School of Law Citrix Public Service Fellow. In this role, they provide legal representation to detained individuals and contributes to public service initiatives.
Prior to their current position, Daniela worked at the PAIR Project as a Detention Paralegal. Their responsibilities included conducting outreach to identify detained noncitizens in New England, collaborating with community organizers and legal service providers, and supporting the detention team through legal research and writing.
Daniela also gained experience in immigration law during their time at Boston University School of Law Immigrants' Rights and Human Trafficking Program, where they served as a Student Advocate. In this role, they represented a family seeking asylum, prepared trial materials, and won relief in the Boston Immigration Court.
Additionally, Daniela interned at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), where they assisted the Direct Representation team by reviewing declarations and researching country conditions for unaccompanied immigrant children. Daniela also prepared adjustment applications and Employment Authorization Documentation for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status recipients.
Furthermore, Daniela has previously worked at Project Citizenship as an AmeriCorps Fellow, focusing on direct client support, community outreach, and citizenship workshop organization. Daniela also served as a Program Coordinator at Playworks, where they facilitated social-emotional skill-building activities and coordinated inclusive recess for students in grades K-8.
Before their work in immigration law and advocacy, Daniela gained marketing and internship experience at 128 Technology, Dell EMC, and TechTarget.
Through their various roles, Daniela Hargus has developed a strong background in immigration law and has demonstrated a commitment to social justice and community service.
Daniela Hargus attended Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School from 2009 to 2013. Daniela then pursued their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in the Arts & Sciences Honors Program at Boston College, graduating cum laude in 2017. In 2016, Daniela spent a year studying at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Their educational journey continued at the Boston University School of Law, where they earned their Doctor of Law (JD) degree from 2019 to 2022.
