Alex Burns

Alex Burns has a diverse work experience in journalism. Alex is currently serving as the Head of News at POLITICO since September 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Editor for Global Politics and Columnist at POLITICO starting from November 2022. Before joining POLITICO, they worked at The New York Times as a National Political Correspondent from April 2018 to August 2022. Alex also held the positions of Political Reporter from January 2016 to March 2018, and Metro Political Correspondent from February 2015 to January 2016 at The New York Times. Earlier in their career, they worked at POLITICO as a Political Reporter, Blogger, Newsletter Writer, Editor from January 2009 to December 2014. Alex started their career as an Editorial Assistant at POLITICO from June 2008 to January 2009.

Alex Burns attended Harvard University from 2004 to 2008 and earned a Bachelor's degree in History and Literature.
