Charles Ramsden

Associate Director at Pollination

With a background in Clean Energy and Climate Research, Charles has worked on a variety of engagements across energy infrastructure transactions, climate investing and macroeconomic modelling. Prior to joining Pollination, Charles was a research member at the world-leading School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of New South Wales, where he provided consulting services to the Australian Conservation Foundation and represented the research team as a speaker at solar energy expositions. He continues to collaborate with the Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets and the Australian PV Institute on SunSPoT, an online tool for assessing rooftop solar investments. He was also previously part of the investment team at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, where he worked on project finance transactions within the waste and recycling industry. This included scoping out origination opportunities within the emerging Circular Economy space. Before coming to Australia, Charles developed strong financial modelling and analytical skills as a supply chain and procurement consultant in Munich, Germany. Charles graduated from Durham University with a First-Class Honours in Master of Science in Physics. His thesis specialised in the research of novel materials in solar cells. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed sustainability and energy journals.
