Jan Swartjes

Jan Swartjes has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Jan began their career at IKEA as an employee in Goodsflow and worked there for four years. After that, they interned at CSIRO for a few months. Jan then pursued their PhD at the University of Groningen and worked as a PhD candidate for four years. Following this, they worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University Medical Center Groningen and later at EPFL. Jan then joined Baxter International Inc., where they held the roles of a Scientist in their R&D department and participated in their Technical Development Program. Currently, they are the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at Polyganics BV.

Jan Swartjes has a diverse education history, starting with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Life, Science, and Technology from the University of Groningen in 2008. After that, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 2011. From 2011 to 2015, they attended the University Medical Center Groningen, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medical Sciences. Currently, Jan Swartjes is enrolled in the ESB Business School at Reutlingen University, pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Management, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
