Solutions Engineer- IOT

Role Summary:

The IoT Solutions Engineer has a focus on facilitating design, implementation and support of the Digital Solutions within Polygon Group US. The role shall be consistent with the Company vision to be a market leader in Property Damage and Temporary Climate IOT products.  The product scope will include implementing various (and ever-evolving) sensors, control systems, customer interfaces and communication methods.

Requirements:

• Demonstratable experience with electronic hardware, firmware and/or software development including (but not limited to) ESP-IDF, STM Cube, MS Visual Studio, open WRT, Linux etc.
• Software engineering skills a plus, but minimum understanding and working knowledge of program languages to include but not limited to, Java, C, C++, SQL, Python etc.
• Experience with various communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, Serial, MQTT, Bluetooth or LoRa and their hardware topologies
• Cellular and GNSS telematics system or UWB experience a plus
• Must have at minimum basic experience with MCAD or ECAD
• Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure product cohesion
• Ability to perform application troubleshooting and subsequent resolution plans
• Support and promote effective relationships and teamwork within the company
• Occasional travel to support internal and external customers
• Moderate contact with customers and contractors is expected, therefore outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential
• A consistent record of analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently with little supervision and a strong work ethic is critical 
• Software infrastructure or network design/implementation skills a plus

Job Qualifications:

• Degree in Software/Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in technical documentation
• Soldering and electro-mechanical assembly competency
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain un-restricted security clearance or passport
• Ability to travel internationally if needed
• Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Team oriented and professional in manner

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, test and improve device firmware and configuration files
• Manage device file/code repository with documentation
• Write technical documents for device setup, deployment and troubleshooting
• Assist with vendor design requests on new solutions
• Refine and document CAD/ECAD designs
• Assist operational field team members during deployments as needed
• Assist in building software tools for managing device update, configuration and diagnostics
• Assist with small part CAD/ECAD design
• Collaborate with international team members to ensure overall product cohesion
• Travel occasionally to job sites for information, training or assistance
• Travel occasionally for product governance meetings and technical training
• Complete ongoing technical training to stay current with IOT, AI, ML and other trends in the industrial tech sector
