Mario Heredia

Mario Heredia currently serves as a University Lecturer at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, focusing on sustainable design and biomaterials, and as a Project Associate for the UNDP, managing the National Portfolio of Greenhouse Gas Emission Compensation. With a strong background in energy systems and climate change, as evidenced by a Ph.D. from Universidade de Aveiro, Mario has held various roles including Scientific Ambassador and Senior Consultant, where responsibilities encompassed greenhouse gas emissions accounting and energy efficiency initiatives. Previous positions include Senior Technical Trainer at HUMBOLDT ZENTRUM, Chief Technology Officer at Andes Bioenergy, and multiple consulting roles aimed at promoting renewable energy and sustainable practices in agriculture and industry across Ecuador. Educational qualifications also include a Master's in Sustainable Energy Systems and a degree in automotive engineering.
