Jonathan Jones

Jonathan Jones is an experienced educator currently serving as a 6th Grade Science Teacher at Poquoson City Public Schools since July 2019. Previously, Jonathan taught 5th grade at Poquoson Elementary School from August 2016 to July 2019 and had a longer tenure at Newport News Public Schools as a Fifth Grade Teacher from August 2010 to July 2016. Early in the career, Jonathan worked as a Student Teacher for fifth grade at Palmer Elementary School and as a Math Tutor for second grade at Deer Park Elementary School. Jonathan holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Old Dominion University, a MAT in Elementary Education from Christopher Newport University, a BA in English from Christopher Newport University, and an AA in Education from Thomas Nelson Community College.
