Sarah Hammitt Colasurdo

Sarah Hammitt Colasurdo is an accomplished Senior Climate Resilience Specialist at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, with extensive experience in urban planning and disaster recovery. Previously, Sarah served as a Senior Resilience Specialist at SBP, where responsibilities included leading national resilience training initiatives. Prior roles include Urban and Environmental Planner at Jacobs, where project management involved coordination with stakeholders for disaster recovery planning in New Orleans, and Disaster Recovery Planner at James Lee Witt Associates, focusing on criminal justice and public safety planning post-Hurricane Katrina. Sarah's background also includes environmental planning internships at MIT USGS and the City of New York, as well as experience in international development with the International Rescue Committee. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience from Princeton University.
