Emilia Sánchez

Emilia Sánchez, PE, PMP has a diverse work experience in engineering and project management.

Emilia currently serves as the Director of Engineering at the Port of Oakland, a role they assumed in October 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Engineering Project Manager, overseeing port-wide civil infrastructure projects from February 2023 to October 2023.

Before joining the Port of Oakland, Emilia worked at BART, where they held multiple roles. Emilia was a Group Manager from July 2019 to February 2023, responsible for managing a team. Prior to that, they served as a Project Manager from April 2017 to July 2019, overseeing various projects. Emilia initially joined BART as an Engineer in November 2012 and held this position until April 2017.

Emilia also gained experience at AECOM (incorporating Davis Langdon, an AECOM Company) as an Inspector/Office Engineer/Assistant Resident Engineer from November 2009 to November 2012. Emilia previously worked as a Project Manager at Columbia Electric, Inc. from September 2008 to November 2009.

Emilia'scareer in engineering began at the City of Oakland, where they worked as an Engineering Intern in Transportation Engineering for seven years, from 2000 to 2007.

With their extensive background in engineering and project management, Emilia brings valuable expertise to their current role as the Director of Engineering at the Port of Oakland.

Emilia Sánchez, PE, PMP holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Emilia also has a Master of Science degree in Construction Management from California State University - East Bay.
