Andrew Hays

Andrew Hays is an experienced marine management professional with a comprehensive background in harbour operations and naval training. Currently serving as Harbour Master and Marine Manager at Port of Portland Pty Ltd since August 2020, Andrew has previously held significant roles including Marine Manager Planning and Projects (Deputy Harbour Master) at Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne) and Deputy Harbour Master at Pilbara Ports Authority. Andrew's earlier career includes positions such as Assistant Harbourmaster and Control Tower Officer at Darwin Port Corporation, along with various roles in the Royal Australian Navy, where Andrew developed expertise in navigation and submarine operations. Academically, Andrew holds an MBA in Harbour Master from Middlesex University, a Diploma in International Harbour Masters, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, complemented by specialized training in vessel traffic services and frontline management.
