Ben Nelson

Ben Nelson is an experienced mechanical technician with a robust background in various roles across the engineering and construction sectors. Currently serving as a Mechanical Trade at Port of Portland Pty Ltd since January 2023, Ben has previously worked as a Work Delivery Coordinator and Senior Mechanical Technician at Alcoa from August 2019 to December 2022. Ben's extensive experience encompasses positions as a Mechanical Fitter at UGL, Emerson Automation Solutions, Downer, and Mammoet, as well as leading commissioning efforts as a Mechanical Leading Hand at UGL Kentz Joint Venture. Past contributions include significant projects such as the installation of Solar Titan 130 Gas Turbine Generators at Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals and work on the Victorian Desalination Plant and Pluto LNG Plant. Ben holds a Certificate 4 in Mechanical Engineering from South West College of TAFE and completed VCE at Portland Secondary College.
