Brian P. Burk

Brian P. Burk has a diverse range of work experience in the aviation and multimedia industries. Brian P. started their career in 2000 as a Center Manager for Centers for Airway Science, where they managed students and volunteers in an aerospace education program. From 2001 to 2003, they worked as a Certified Flight Instructor at Avia Aviation. Brian P. then moved on to become a Pilot at Craig Air from March to December 2003. In 2004, they joined Flightcraft PDX as a Maintenance Scheduler, where they scheduled and processed aircraft maintenance projects. From 2006 to 2010, they worked at Aircraft Management Solutions as a Co-Pilot and provided administrative services. In 2007, they began working at the Port of Portland as an Airport Operations Specialist and later held roles such as Airport Duty Manager and Operations Impact Coordinator, where they ensured the safe and efficient operation of Portland International Airport and managed construction and maintenance projects. In 2014, they established their own multimedia company, Brian P. Burk Multimedia, and worked as a Multimedia Producer. Additionally, they worked as a Pilot at Envi Adventures from 2017 to 2018. Throughout their career, Burk has demonstrated expertise in aviation operations, aircraft maintenance, multimedia production, and education.

Brian P. Burk has a diverse educational background with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Multimedia Journalism. Brian P. obtained a certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Portland Community College from 2020 to 2023. Additionally, they earned a certificate in Geospatial Unmanned Aerial Systems from the same institution in 2022.

Prior to their time at Portland Community College, Brian pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Oregon, which they completed from 2012 to 2015.

Brian P.'sundergraduate studies took place at American University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American Studies from 1996 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Brian P. Burk also holds several certifications. Brian P. is an Airport Certified Employee in Operations, which they obtained from AAAE in September 2018. Furthermore, they are a certified Part 107 sUAS (Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) Pilot, certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in April 2017. Brian P. also holds an Airline Transport Pilot certification, received in July 2005. Lastly, Brian holds a Certified Flight Instructor certification, obtained from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1999.
