Ronald Backers

Ronald Backers has extensive experience in the logistics and shipping sectors, currently serving in a Business Intelligence role at the Port of Rotterdam since July 2005. In this position, Ronald focuses on collecting, analyzing, and curating intelligence on liquid bulk cargo flows to strengthen the Rotterdam Fuels Hub and Chemical Cluster, collaborating with a diverse range of industry stakeholders including storage companies, refiners, and logistics service providers. Prior to this role, Ronald held various positions at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, including Business Developer for Bulk Cargo and Shipping, and Project Manager. Ronald began a career at Philips Telecommunication in physical distribution from 1989 to 1991. Ronald holds a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics from HAN University of Applied Sciences and has further education from the Oxford Princeton Programme.
