Cedric James

Intern Help Desk/system Administrator at Port of San Diego

Cedric James has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology and network security. Cedric started their career in 2001 as a System Administrator and Blue Team member at the US Navy, where they focused on securing networks against intruders and unauthorized users. Cedric demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of security aspects of various operating systems and security tools.

In 2005, Cedric transitioned into the role of an Information Assurance Manager at the US Navy, where they integrated system security policies and practices into Navy infrastructures. Cedric also provided technical expertise in network-centric operations and handled tasks such as network management, security planning, implementation, and maintenance. Cedric continued to excel in this role until 2009.

After their tenure with the US Navy, Cedric joined the Port of San Diego in 2013 as an INTERN Help Desk/System Administrator. Here, they provided first-level help desk support, installed, configured, and integrated client workstations and other devices. Cedric also offered telecommunications support on the Cisco enterprise VoIP phone system and assisted in diagnosing and implementing solutions for PC's, peripherals, LAN/WAN connections, and other technical issues. Cedric was responsible for documenting system configurations, maintaining technical knowledge bases, and performing tasks related to system administration.

Throughout their career, Cedric has showcased expertise in network security, system administration, and technical support.

Cedric James attended the University of Phoenix and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with an emphasis on Security in 2015.
