Marco Smeets

Marco Smeets has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Starting in 1995, they worked as a Developer and Administrator at Tailor voice & software, where they were responsible for various tasks including planning, designing, and developing a stock market system. From 1998 to 2000, they worked as a Software Developer at !Effective. In 2000, they joined Ordina as a Developer and Designer, where they worked until 2005. Marco then joined Portbase, where they held multiple positions. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a DIM Manager, followed by a role as a Datawarehouse Specialist from 2007 to 2014. Marco then became a Data Architect until 2020 and currently works as a Business Intelligence Consultant. In their roles at Portbase, they were responsible for designing and implementing ETL processes, developing data marts, creating management reports, performing deployments, and managing the data warehouse environment. Marco is skilled in using tools such as Oracle Data Integrator and QlikView.

Marco Smeets completed their VWO (pre-university education) at Coriovallum College from 1982 to 1989. Marco then attended Zuyd Hogeschool | Zuyd University of Applied Sciences from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a degree in Informatica (Computer Science). Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including API Development, API Security, Developing APIs, and API Design and Fundamentals on Google Cloud's Apigee API Platform through Coursera, all in 2019. Marco also holds an Archimate 2 Certificate from The Open Group, which they obtained in 2015.
