Thomas Wheeler

Thomas Wheeler is a Senior Energy Analyst at Portland General Electric, focusing on deal analytics, financial modeling, and data pipelines for regional transmission strategies, while also leading data science training for the Structuring & Origination team. Previously, as an Energy Modeler and Python Developer at energyexplorer.io, Thomas developed a web application for automating financial modeling of utility-scale solar and storage projects. Experience at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management included creating an interactive web application for visualizing data center energy use and co-authoring a literature review on the impacts of digitalization on energy demand. Thomas has held various roles in data science, analysis, and business development, including internships and projects with organizations such as Scoot Science, All Across Africa, CocoAsenso, and Jibu. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Environmental Science & Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science with a focus on Social Entrepreneurship from Santa Clara University.
