Ian Hayashi Jones

Ian Hayashi Jones is a skilled engineer with a strong background in machine learning and product development. Currently serving as an engineer at Portola since November 2024, Ian previously held the position of Strategic Projects Lead at Scale AI, where the focus was on providing quality data for companies developing large language models. Ian was the Head of Product & Engineering at Fundid, managing a seed-stage fintech startup, and played a pivotal role as Founding Engineer and Product & Design Manager at Cardless, contributing significantly to its growth. Ian's experience also includes roles at NetSuite and NVIDIA in machine learning, and research at the Toyota InfoTechnology Center focused on autonomous driving. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Symbolic Systems and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University, alongside earlier experiences as a course assistant and instructor.
