James Rider

James Rider is an experienced executive with a strong background in operational leadership within the water sector. Currently serving as Project Director and Chief Operating Officer at Portsmouth Water since July 2021, James previously held the role of Executive Consultant at James Rider Consulting from October 2019 to July 2021. Prior to that, James spent nearly three decades at WESSEX WATER SERVICES LIMITED, concluding as Chief Operating Officer. During tenure at WESSEX WATER, key achievements included leading the organization to top-rated water supply results, consistently meeting leakage targets, and achieving the highest environmental assessments for three consecutive years, while also delivering leading customer service results. James Rider reported to the Board as a Statutory Director.
