JOB TITLE: Sustainability Procurement Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Audit and Sustainability Coordinator to join our supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing factory audits to ensure ethical and sustainable practices, maintaining audit records, uploading necessary documentation, and tracking compliance and improvements. This role is crucial in ensuring that our business operations adhere to high ethical standards and contribute to sustainable development.

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct and oversee factory audits including management of supplier audits to assess compliance with ethical, social, and environmental standards.

  • Evaluate suppliers and Portwest owned factories on various parameters including labour practices, working conditions, environmental management and overall sustainability efforts.

  • Maintain audit records and documentation by maintaining detailed and accurate records of all factory audits, ensure all documentation is up-to-date and filed properly and accessibly.

  • Identify and report on any areas of non-compliance, recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness of factory audits, sustainability initiatives and corrective actions.

  • Develop and implement tracking systems to monitor factory compliance with ethical and sustainability standards.

  • Work closely with suppliers and factory management to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement.

  • Communicate audit results and sustainability performance to internal stakeholders, as well as liaising with external stakeholders, to ensure compliance with local and international standards.

  • Conduct training and awareness programs for suppliers and internal teams on ethical and sustainable practices.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in ethical and sustainable supply chain management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into overall business strategies and operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an ESG focused role in a supply chain or procurement functional area.

  • Proven experience managing factory audits and implementing sustainability initiatives.

  • Familiarity with relevant ethical, social, and environmental standards (e.g., SA8000, ISO 14001, Fair Trade).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in audit management systems and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

  • High ethical standards and integrity.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
