Deirdre Clarke

Deirdre Clarke has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Deirdre most recently worked at Portwest as the Head of HR since November 2022 and also served as the Group HR Manager since September 2017. Prior to that, they worked at ADV Safety from September 2014 to February 2015 in a Marketing and Lead Generation role. Deirdre also held various positions at Portwest, Lionbridge Technologies VeriTest UK, The Merchants Group, and Sykes, where they worked as a Business Development & Operations Manager, Business Unit Manager/Operations Manager, Operations Manager, and Client Project Manager respectively.

Deirdre Clarke began their education in 1990 at University College Cork, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in European Languages. In 1992-1993, they participated in the Erasmus Scheme and studied Italian Language and Literature at Università degli Studi di Firenze in Italy. Following their undergraduate studies, they returned to University College Cork and obtained a Higher Diploma in Cooperative Organisation, Food Marketing & Rural Development from 1994 to 1995.

In 1997-1998, Deirdre enrolled in ICM - Institute of Commercial Management and completed a Diploma in Business Administration. Subsequently, they pursued a Diploma in Human Resource Management at the same institution from 1998 to 1999.

To further enhance their professional skills, Deirdre sought additional qualifications. In 2003, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) Qualification from the PMI (Project Management Institute). Later, in 2013 and 2014, Deirdre engaged in online studies and expanded their language proficiency with Advanced French and Advanced Italian courses, respectively.

Currently, Deirdre is enrolled at the Technical University of Dublin, undertaking a Diploma in Strategic HRM scheduled for completion in 2023. Their field of study in this program is Strategic Human Resources.
