Hans-Martin Sass is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in teaching and research. Currently serving as an Academic Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies since June 2011, Hans-Martin previously held the position of Senior Research Scholar Emeritus at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics from June 2011 to May 2012. During a decade at Peking Union Medical College from April 2002 to May 2012, Hans-Martin contributed as a Professor. Additionally, Hans-Martin was a Professor of Philosophy at Ruhr-Universität Bochum from April 1969 to May 2012. Hans-Martin earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from universities in Erlangen, Marburg, and Muenster between 1955 and 1962.

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies is an independent, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit public policy research institute. The Institute identifies and aggressively shepherds discussion on key science, technology, and national security issues facing our society. From these discussions and forums, we develop meaningful policy options and ensure their implementation at the intersection of business and government. The Institute’s current endeavors have required the formation of special efforts in: Terrorism and asymmetry; Emerging threats and opportunities; National health policies; Science and technology forecasting; and National security.
