Michael Murphy is a research intern at the International Center for Terrorism Studies, affiliated with the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, focusing on global developments in counter-terrorism under the guidance of Prof. Yonah Alexander since September 2023. Previously, Michael served as an advocacy intern with Churches for Middle East Peace, conducting qualitative research on religious persecution and engaging in Congressional outreach. Michael also has experience in the food service industry, working as a restaurant associate and crew member at Roots Natural Kitchen, where customer service and food preparation were key responsibilities. Michael held the position of assistant camp director at the Potomac Community Recreation Center, supporting the planning and implementation of activities for children. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs and a minor in History from the University of Virginia, and a high school diploma from Walt Whitman High School.
