Danyel O'Farrell, PHR, SHRM-CP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Starting their career at Stream Global Services in 2005, they held roles such as Associate Human Resources Recruiter, Human Resources Representative, Associate Human Resources Generalist, and eventually becoming a Human Resources Generalist. In this last role, they partnered with site management to execute HR strategy and coordinate HR policies and programs for over 300 Support Professionals. They also acted as the HR point of contact in the absence of the Site HR Manager.
In 2011, Danyel joined The Washington Post as an Employee Relations Specialist, where they managed employee relations issues and retention efforts for a population of 1300 employees. They conducted fair and timely investigations, exit interviews, and stay interviews, while also coaching managers and employees on various issues. Later, they became the Production Human Resources Manager, overseeing all HR functions for the company's Printing Plant and Circulation Dispatch department, supporting 600 on-site employees as well as 100 remotely, including five unions and a non-union population.
Finally, in 2016, Danyel joined The Potomac School as the Director of Human Resources. This role encompasses the overall leadership and management of HR functions for the organization.
