Chen (Chris) Gong is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since February 2020, focusing on energy system modeling using the IAM REMIND model. Prior experience includes roles as a PhD Researcher and Master's student at the University of Potsdam, as well as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam. Chen also worked as a Student Research Assistant at the Max-Planck Institute for Colloids and at Caltech, where responsibilities included modeling sRNA regulation and building circuits for a Helium 4 fridge. Additional experience includes a Summer Internship at Fermilab and a role as a Student Research Assistant at the University of Arkansas, focusing on data analysis and the characteristics of binary star systems. Chen holds a Doctor's Degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics and a Master's Degree in Physics from the University of Potsdam, along with bachelor's degrees in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics and Mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan University.
