Co-lead - Land Use Transition Lab at PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research

Jan Philipp Dietrich is a leading researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, with a significant focus on land-use modeling and research software engineering. Since December 2011, Jan Philipp has served as Co-Lead of the Land-Use Management Group, where coordination of advanced global land-use modeling research and enhancement of cross-scale dynamics representation is prioritized. Previously, Jan Philipp held the position of Group Leader for Research Software Engineering for Transformation Pathways, emphasizing the essential role of software in modern research. Jan Philipp's academic background includes a PhD in Physics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, awarded in 2011, and a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Potsdam, completed in 2008. During 2008 to 2011, Jan Philipp was a PhD student at PIK, focusing on cross-scale interactions in land-use modeling.
