Janin Schaffer is a dedicated science coordinator at the PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since October 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a postdoctoral researcher and doctoral candidate at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research from January 2014 to September 2021, focusing on physical oceanography and its impact on the 79 North Glacier in Northeast Greenland. Additionally, Janin Schaffer was a lecturer at Hochschule Bremerhaven from March 2019 to July 2021, teaching an introductory course on marine sciences. Janin Schaffer holds a Master of Science degree in Climate Physics, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth System Physics, both from Kiel University.
