Doctoral Agricultural Modeler Researcher at PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research

Marcos Alves is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in agricultural modeling and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as Program Modelling Lead at Agreena since September 2022, Marcos leads the development of simulation models to quantify greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture, focusing on the scalability of these models for carbon credit development. As a Doctoral Agricultural Modeler Researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since November 2018, Marcos contributes to the MAgPIE model, predicting agricultural impacts until 2100. Previous roles include senior analyst in regulatory affairs at Cargill, a regulatory affairs specialist at Ceva Santé Animale, and experience in veterinary product registration at Pfizer. Marcos also has a diverse educational background, holding a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and multiple degrees in agricultural economics, project management, and veterinary medicine.
