Rike Becker is a research associate at Imperial College London since March 2024 and a guest researcher in the "Adaptation in Agricultural Systems" group at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since October 2021, focusing on climate change impacts on agricultural water demands and sustainable resource use. Previously, Rike held a postdoctoral position at the University of Kassel, teaching on the same topic while researching agricultural water demand and yields. With experience as a team member in hydrometeorology and flood information systems, Rike contributed to projects aimed at improving precipitation forecasts and flood impact analysis. Rike's academic journey includes a PhD in Applied Geosciences from Technische Universität Darmstadt, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources Engineering from UCLA, and a Diplom in Geography from the University of Tübingen. Rike’s research interests encompass hydrology, climate change impact assessment, and water resource management.
