Sina Loriani

Deputy Lead Earth Resilience Science Unit (ersu) at PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research

Sina Loriani is a researcher with extensive experience in the fields of climate impact and quantum optics. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since May 2021, Sina contributes to the Earth Commission's Working Group 1 and leads a section of the Global Tipping Points Report 2023 while being a core team member of the Tipping Point Modelling Intercomparison Project (TIPMIP). Additionally, a fellowship for science communication with comics is held at Freie Universität Berlin since September 2023. Prior roles include Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD student at Leibniz University Hanover, where significant contributions were made to satellite-based quantum inertial sensors and atom interferometry. Sina also gained international research experience as a Visiting Researcher at the Observatoire de Paris and Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III. Education credentials include a Ph.D. in Physics and both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Physics from Leibniz Universität Hannover.
