Thomas M. Gronow

President & CEO, University of Colorado Hospital at UCHealth

Thomas M. Gronow, Ed.D., M.H.A., serves as president and chief executive officer of University of Colorado Hospital, one of 12 hospitals within UCHealth, a nationally recognized health care system with operating revenue of $5.4 billion and a workforce of more than 28,000 people.

Mr. Gronow joined UCHealth in 2014 as the chief operating officer for University of Colorado Hospital. In 2022, he was named president and CEO. Prior to joining University of Colorado Hospital, Mr. Gronow served as vice president of operations at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Gronow started at UPMC as an administrative fellow in 2007.

Mr. Gronow’s leadership expertise centers on complex adaptive systems and how constructs of leadership, learning, change, and culture are used to impact organizational performance. Mr. Gronow’s passion is developing leaders and teams to perform and adapt in order to deliver safer, more efficient care to patients.
