Mehdi El Ouali

Mehdi El Ouali has a diverse work experience, starting in 2005 with roles at the Post-Graduate Students' Society of McGill University, where they served as President until 2007. In 2004, they joined McGill University as Lead Fellow for the Tomlinson Project for University-Level Science Education, a position they held until 2008.

In 2011, Mehdi joined McKinsey & Company, where they worked for over ten years. Mehdi began as an Associate in 2011, then progressed through various roles including Engagement Manager, Associate Partner, and Senior Solution Leader & Associate Partner. Mehdi played a key role in leading McKinsey's AI ecosystem and offered expertise to clients in areas such as AI/ML, digital marketing, risk management, payments, wealth and asset management.

Currently, Mehdi works at Power Corporation of Canada as an Associate Vice President, Strategy, a position they started in August 2021.

Mehdi El Ouali completed their PhD in Nanotechnology at McGill University in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained their M.Sc. in Physics from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) between 1998 and 2003. In addition, they also spent a year studying at Carnegie Mellon University in 2000-2001, although it is not specified whether they earned a specific degree during that time.
