A day in the life:
- As a Platform Engineer at Power Digital, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our digital platforms. You will work closely with our development, operations, and security teams to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our systems. You will leverage your expertise in cloud computing, automation, and DevOps practices to streamline our deployment processes and optimize our platform's performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud.
- Implement automation solutions for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using tools like Terraform, Spacelift, and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure that applications are designed with scalability, performance, and security in mind.
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or a similar role, designing and implementing platform architectures at-scale.
- Deep knowledge of cloud technologies and experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Certified in Solution Architecture.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing distributed systems, microservices, and APIs.
- Expertise in architecting scalable and high-performance solutions, including database design, caching strategies, and load balancing.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges.

Most Important Things (MITs)
- Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) is critical to everything we do and much of your time will be spent on this activity.
- Kubernetes is where we are consolidating a majority of our workloads and you must be able to expertly manage configurations and monitoring of performance.
- The Platform Engineering Team has responsibility for helping the entire organization mature into better engineering practices and governance. Your skill and enthusiasm is critical to the organization’s success.
