Juan Carlos Montero is an experienced professional in the field of electrical engineering and power systems, currently serving as Tesorero for the IEEE Power & Energy Society since January 2022. Montero has an extensive career at the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, holding various roles since December 2000, including Coordinador Planeamiento Operativo Eléctrico - CENCE and Asesor Gerencia de Electricidad. Additionally, Montero contributes to academia as an Interino Professor at the Universidad de Costa Rica since August 2020. Leadership roles include Chairman of the IEEE CAPANA Council (2022-2023) and past Vice President of Membership and Image for IEEE PES (2012-2020). Montero's education includes a Licenciado, Maestría, and Bachillerato in Sistemas de Potencia from the Universidad de Costa Rica, along with a specialization in Management Skills from Aden Business School.
