ABOUT THE ROLE 

To support our growth, we are looking for a Specialist, Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, audit and support our growing network infrastructure which includes mainly installations in energy production plants and our cloud-based datacenters. You will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and implementing maintainable, secure and highly available network architectures that meet business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design the network for energy production plants, following security practices and standards, aiming for reliability, security, easy troubleshooting, maintenability.
  • Provide Level-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve network outages for the remote sites, resolve operational issues and restore services.
  • Providing expert level root cause analysis for issue troubleshooting.
  • Provide reviews for client's topology drawings and design concepts.
  • Draft and maintain service documentation and processes
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies and tools
  • Determine bottlenecks, enhance automation of repetitive tasks
  • Work with other System Engineers to plan, design and improve business services

Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following toolbox:

  • At least 3 years of network engineer experience required
  • Thorough understanding of the basic high-level Internet protocols (DNS, SMTP, HTTP, etc.)
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols and schemes
  • Thorough understanding of networking Security, IP Routing, VPN (SSL VPN, IPSEC)
  • Solid understanding of the TCP/IP model
  • Experience with equipment and network L2 redundancy options, protocols and topologies (MST, STP, LACP, PAGP, etc)
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Have patience and good communication skills, ability to own a project and communicate directly with clients in english to complete project commissioning.
  • Network and Security certifications are preferred
  • At least 2 years experience working in Linux
