Jocel Soriano

Team Leader - Product Development Industrial at Power Integrations

Jocel Soriano has extensive work experience in the field of electrical design and engineering. Jocel started their career at Emerson Network Power (Astec Int'l Ltd) in 1999, where they worked as an Electrical Design Engineer until 2006. Jocel then joined Acbel Polytech Inc as an Electrical Design Engineer from 2006 to 2007.

In 2007, Jocel Soriano joined Flextronics as a Design & Engineering Manager. During their time at Flextronics, they led a team of engineers in developing power supplies for servers, storage, and desktop applications. Jocel also managed the research and development of wireless charging technology for smartphones, wearables, tablets, and notebooks. This included designing power supplies with a range of 2.5W to 40W.

From 2013 to 2015, Jocel Soriano continued their role as an Electrical Design & Engineering Manager at Flextronics. In this role, they focused on designing power supplies for notebook applications and managing the technical aspects of ACDC power supply for servers and desktops.

In 2015, Jocel Soriano joined Edge Electrons as a Lead Electrical Design Engineer. Here, they worked on various projects related to intelligent power factor correction, AC to AC voltage regulation, and intelligent power quality monitoring systems. Jocel remained with Edge Electrons until December 2019.

Since 2019, Jocel Soriano has been working at Power Integrations as a Staff Power Supply Design Engineer. Jocel has been involved in the technical management of switch mode power supply design, including spearheading the development of innovative wireless charging solutions that meet existing Qi protocols for higher power capabilities.

Jocel Soriano started their education in 1992 and completed it in 1997 at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, where they earned a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering. In 1998, they attended the University of the Philippines for a year, focusing on their field of interest, Switch Mode Power Supply.
