John Kidenda

John Kidenda has a diverse work experience. John is currently a Board Member at The African Leadership Bridge since January 2023. Prior to that, they were a Polaris Fellow at UATX, where they studied law, markets, and institutions. From August 2022 to September 2022, they served as Chief of Utility Operations at PowerGen Renewable Energy and was responsible for overseeing operations. John also held the position of Director - Technology and Customer at PowerGen Renewable Energy from January 2018 to September 2022, where they led software development and customer support teams. Additionally, John served as the Kenya Country Director at Africa Mini-grid Developers Association (AMDA) starting in June 2018. John worked as a Senior Consultant at Dalberg Global Development Advisors from August 2015 to December 2017, advising clients on strategy planning and performance improvement. John also served as a Board Member at RSC Scholarship Foundation from November 2009 to January 2017, focusing on expanding the foundation's impact. Other roles include Summer Consultant at Dalberg Global Development Advisors, Associate Director at The Advisory Board Company, and Summer Business Analyst at Bazaarvoice. John Kidenda has also been recognized as a panelist at SXSW Interactive 2012, where they presented on innovation in resource-constrained environments. Overall, they have extensive experience in various sectors, including renewable energy, global development, consultancy, and non-profit organizations.

John Kidenda completed a Master of Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) with a concentration in Development Economics and International Development at the Harvard Kennedy School from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Engineering Route to Business at the Texas McCombs School of Business from 2007 to 2009. Moreover, John also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin from 2004 to 2009, completing their studies in the Engineering Route to Business.
