Janet Gail Besser

Janet Gail Besser is the current Chairwoman at PowerOptions. Janet has held this position since 2016. Janet has a long and successful history working in various capacities in the energy sector. they were the Vice President, Policy and Government Affairs at the New England Clean Energy Council from January 2012 to March 2016. In this role, they were responsible for leading the policy and government affairs team to influence energy policy agenda and advance New England's clean energy economy. Janet was also previously the Vice President, Regulatory Strategy and Policy at National Grid from October 2004 to March 2011. In this role, they developed and coordinated strategy and policy related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, gas and electricity procurement, alternative regulation and regulatory framework for electric distribution, transmission and gas businesses. Janet has also held positions at Analysis Group and Compass Lexecon.

Janet Gail Besser has a BA in Political Science from Williams College, where they graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Janet also has an MPP in Energy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
