Alfredo Barrantes Ms

Alfredo Barrantes has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. From 2003 to 2014, they held managerial roles at The Home Depot, responsible for asset protection and supply chain protection. In 2014, they became the IT Leader - Information Security at BFG Communications. In 2015, they served as a Graduate Intern in the Cyber Forensics Division of the Police Department at Armstrong Atlantic State. Since 2016, they have been a Sr. Information Security Analyst at LG&E and KU Energy LLC. In 2023, they joined PPL Corporation as a Product Security Lead. Alfredo Barrantes holds certifications including CISSP, CCSP, and CEH.

Alfredo Barrantes holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville, specializing in Cyber Crime, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019. Alfredo also completed a Graduate Certification in Cybersecurity from the University of Louisville's J.B. Speed School of Engineering, Bioengineering Department, between 2017 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Crime from Armstrong State University from 2014 to 2015 and a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Affairs & Security from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2012 to 2013. Alfredo's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Armstrong State University, achieved from 2004 to 2012, as well as an Associate degree in Liberal Arts, obtained from 2008 to 2010.

In terms of certifications, Alfredo has obtained multiple credentials such as the Fusion Admin Certification from Fusion Risk Management in 2022, the GIAC Public Cloud Security (GPCS) certification from GIAC Certifications in March 2022, the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) designation from (ISC)² in 2019, and the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council in July 2018. Alfredo also holds the Access Data Certified Examiner (ACE) certification from AccessData in May 2015 and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) qualification from (ISC)² in August 2017. Additionally, Alfredo achieved the Certified Penetration Tester (CPT) certification from the Information Assurance Certification Review Board (IACRB) in 2018.
