Michele Coan

Michele Coan, CPA, CISA has over 30 years of extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Michele is currently the Director - IT Audit Services at PPL Corporation, where they lead and manages the internal audit team focused on utilizing automation and data analytic solutions to improve efficiency. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager of Audit Innovation at PPL Corporation, where they provided risk-based and value-added audit services, and taught internal audit and SOX compliance personnel on digital solutions.

Before joining PPL Corporation, Michele held the position of Manager, IT & Operational Auditing at LG&E and KU Energy LLC. In this role, they directed IT and operational auditing functions, managed the SOX 404 Program, and facilitated the external auditor relationship during annual SOX compliance testing. Michele played a key role in optimizing SOX controls and provided consultation on scoping, risk assessment, and change management related to SOX applications.

Prior to LG&E and KU Energy LLC, Michele worked at AIG Warranty as a Program/Project Manager and later as a General Manager in Operations, where they directed call center operations and supported the administration of warranty contracts.

Earlier in their career, they held various roles at AEGON Institutional Markets, including Managing Director of Operations, Information Technology and Communications, Director of Operations and Communications, Director of Group Operations, Manager of Customer Resource Team, and Auditor in Corporate Audit. In these positions, they managed financial contract administration, customer service, operational risk management, internal controls, information technology services, and communications for large portfolios.

Michele began their career as an Accountant at Rye, Wright & Hiegel, PLLC and Jostens Education System. Michele is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Michele Coan, CPA, CISA, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus in Accounting from the University of Louisville in the years 1980 to 1984. Prior to that, Michele attended Western High School. In addition to their education, Michele holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification and the Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) certification, both of which were obtained in different years.
