Ana Franco Matamala

Ana Franco Matamala has extensive work experience in the field of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and validation. Ana Franco currently holds the position of CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation) Operations Manager at PQE Group since May 2022.

Prior to this, Ana worked at Azbil Telstar for over 16 years, starting as a Consultant GMP in January 2005 and eventually becoming a Senior Consultant GMP and Validation Project Manager. In this role, they managed the Commissioning & Qualification Department, providing guidance to a multidisciplinary team of technicians. Ana Franco was also an expert in Commissioning and Qualification, ensuring compliance with ISPE Guidelines and applicable EU/FDA GMPs. Additionally, Ana defined and implemented a risk management process based on ICH Q9.

Before Azbil Telstar, Ana worked at ALKEMI, S.A. as a Microbiology Laboratory Quality Manager, where they focused on preparing the organization for UNE EN-ISO 17025 certification and validating procedures, methods, and equipment calibration.

Ana also gained experience as a Quality Control Technician at Glaxo Smith Kline Pharma and as a Junior Quality Technician at Eco Chimica Romana S.r.l. In these roles, they were involved in various projects related to quality systems, HACCP implementation, and analysis of food products.

Overall, Ana's work experience showcases their expertise in GMP, validation, risk management, and laboratory quality management.

Ana Franco Matamala attended the Universidad de Salamanca from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained a Licenciatura en Ciencias Biologicas. Ana Franco then pursued further education at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 1997 to 1999, completing a Licenciatura en Ciencia y Tecnología de los Alimentos. There is no specified field of study for either degree.
